In Ágota Kristóf’s The Notebook, two brothers subject themselves to harsh
trials of endurance and courage in preparation for adulthood.
In this photographic narrative, however, the opposite takes place: two girls
play together in an attempt to rediscover the lightness of childhood.
Boredom, melancholy, and innocence intertwine in their gazes, their bodies,
and their gestures. It is as if they were trying to crystallize a simple, fragile
world — distant now, yet not entirely lost.
